Who we are
Navigator Egypt LLC, Hurghada, Red Sea, Egypt, runs Egypt Adventures and decides how the personal information described here is used.
For any question about your information — including a request to see it, correct it or have it deleted — email enquiry@egypt-adventures.com.
What we collect
When you send a booking request we collect your name, email address, phone number, country, hotel and room number, how you prefer to be contacted, any pickup or general notes you write, and the trips, dates and party sizes you chose.
The group quote form collects a WhatsApp number, along with the party size, destination, preferred date, trips you selected and, if you give it, your hotel name. It does not ask for your name or email.
The contact form collects your name, email address, phone number, country, hotel, the destination or trip you are interested in, your travel date, party size and your message.
We also keep the WhatsApp or email conversations we have with you, because that is where most of the arrangements happen.
For trips inside natural protectorates or border areas — Ras Mohammed and Abu Simbel among them — the permit requires passenger passport details, so we ask you for a passport photo when one of those trips is booked.
Why we use it, and on what basis
To arrange and run the trip you booked. That is the contract between us, and we cannot pick you up, seat you on a boat or apply for a permit without it.
To answer enquiries and quotes, which are the steps leading up to that contract.
To meet the permit requirements set by the Egyptian authorities, without which a protectorate trip cannot legally run.
To keep records of what was booked and paid, in line with normal accounting practice.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Who else sees it
We share only what each of these needs, and nothing more:
- The boat and trip operators running your trip — your name and party size, so you are expected.
- The drivers collecting you — your hotel, room number and phone number, so they can find you.
- The Egyptian authorities issuing protectorate and border permits — the passport details the permit requires.
- Resend, the service that emails your booking to our team, which processes the contents of that email.
- WhatsApp, owned by Meta, when you choose to message us there — those conversations sit on their systems as well as ours.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records and messages for 5 years after the trip date, in line with how long we keep our accounting records generally. Where an enquiry never became a trip, we keep it for 5 years from our last contact with you.
Passport copies are different: we delete them 3 months after the trip ends. They are needed only for the permit, and there is no reason to hold them longer.
Cookies and your browser
This site sets no cookies on your browser as a visitor. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no tracking of any kind, which is why you have not been shown a cookie banner — there would be nothing to consent to.
Our own staff area sets a single sign-in cookie for whoever is managing bookings. It is scoped so that your browser never receives it, it carries nothing about you, and it does nothing but keep that person signed in.
The only things stored in your browser are your saved trip plan, if you add trips to it, and, if you change it, your preferred display currency. Both stay on your device. When you open your trip plan or the checkout page, the trip names you saved are sent to our own server so we can look up their current prices — nothing about you is sent, and nothing is kept.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can object to how we are using it, and ask us to send it to you in a portable form. Email enquiry@egypt-adventures.com and we will respond.
If you are in the EU or the UK and you are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Where your information is held
We are based in Egypt and your information is stored here.
Egypt is not covered by an EU adequacy decision, which means the automatic legal protections that apply to data held inside the EU do not apply here. We are telling you this plainly rather than leaving it out. Your rights above still stand, and we still answer to them.
Changes to this policy
